​​Whether you are biking, hiking, walking, wheeling or just strolling with friends, the MassTrails Network has over 1,000 miles of shared-use paths, making outdoor recreation more accessible to everyone. 

What is MassTrails10?

Each year the MassTrails team (along with key partners) identifies ten signature trails – each offering something unique, from easy transit access and family-friendly routes to rich history, wildlife, and unforgettable views. From a weekend ride, to a quick nature escape, or a full-day adventure, MassTrails10 makes it easy to find yourself on a trail.

What are the featured trails in MassTrails10?

The 2026 MassTrails10 include: Shining Sea Bikeway, MCRT: Wachusett Greenways Section, Alewife Brook Greenway to Mystic River Greenway, MCRT: Sudbury to Hudson Section, Marblehead Rail Trail, Manhan Rail Trail, Battle Road Trail, Twin Cities Rail Trail, World War II Veterans Memorial Trail, and Silvio O’Conte: Fort River Trail.

MassTrails is an inter-agency initiative of the Commonwealth led by the Governor’s Office in collaboration with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, The Department of Transportation, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation. MassTrails10 is a collaboration of The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), the Massachusetts Office of Outdoor Recreation (MOOR), the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT) and the Conine Family Foundation’s HubLuv initiative.
